The children differ in their attitudes. Some are very happy to start school, make friends, learn and play whereas others take it as a big disturbance in their nice fun filled routine. They take it as a new routine and challenge their parents in adopting to this new era in their lives.

Teachers these days are well trained to handle the early days quite effectively. Parents need to trust them and follow their guidance. Settling down into the new environment takes a while for an adult so you certainly need to allow time for your young ones to get settled and acquaint with the changes.

The parents need to work with their children following their natural instinct and psychology. There is no “one fit all size” solution. By the school age, you should be able to know the motivational factors of your child. You should be able to know his/her fears, likes and dislikes etc. Please work accordingly to make your child understand that this is time to start a new era in their lives.

You need to work with them to set their new routine. Make sure you extend maximum support in making them accept that school would be a fun place for learning.
